Solana is a public, open-source blockchain that supports smart contracts, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and a variety of decentralised applications (dApps). Native to Solana's blockchain is the $SOL token which provides network security through staking as well as a means of transferring value.

SOL tokens must be purchased in order to finance your wallet. The simplest method is to use a credit card using FTX Pay, which is now included in your new Phantom wallet. Select "Deposit from FTX" from the "Deposit SOL" menu in your wallet. You'll be taken to a new window where you can establish an FTX account and buy SOL.
